Service: Why wasn't our water always full?*
AH got us in here at short notice and arranged some excellent extras.
Savories were strong. Sepia stepped up to the plate this time. Again, quality ingredients, massive amounts of effort and this time generally stronger flavours than our other visit.
Like a pool shark softening up their next victim, we finished the savory section thinking we may be doing a Maccas run on the way back home. We were wrong. We have never walked away from finishing all the desserts until now. This meal defeated us. Mentally, physically and emotionally.
Having said that it was good. We'd go again funding permitting but would probably either go on a non degustation day or cut back on the desserts (there, we've said it...the world might as well end now).
* $9 per person for bottled water. Better than paying per bottle but we think this is why they didn't refill the glasses as often as one would expect for a 3 hat place.
Tuna - good
Scallop - missing something from last time.
Cod - good. Cod is such a good fish
Scampi - good
Wagyu - should have cut out a dessert and given more beef. This was really good.
Venison - AH was eating pescatarian and his miso cod was better (tastes like Nazimi's tooth fish)
Cheese - AH said "you sure you don't want the cheese?" about 7 times and we eventually got the hint. Enough for 2-3 people, really tasty and not sickeningly heavy cheese.
Golden Egg - ok possibly better than the pearl
Pearl - ok, the powder texture had featured a lot already tonight so this probably pushed us over
Citrus - good, could have been a dessert in its own right
Milks - We knew we could taste rice porridge. Better when mixed but not the way one of the team mixed it
Chocolate Forest - AH had strawberries and pistachio instead which we thought was much better than the forest,,,,,,Chocolate Forest is still too full on.
Stones - salted passion fruit was the best
