We had conflicting reports prior to going. One source said it was their favourite restaurant, another said not to bother - too many techniques not enough payoff.
We came in somewhere in the middle. Some dishes were good (e.g. skate) others overly small or seemingly overly simple (e.g. brussel sprouts which seemed to be just brussel sprouts and "Flowers in the Window" seemed to be flower petals, sorbet, cream, grapes and berries). Maybe some more explanation of how the food was prepared would help us mortals who can't look at a dish and tell exactly how it was prepared.
The chefs seemed to have taken on board recent comments that the food was too salty as ours wasn't but there were some inconsistencies with food where one of the eating party received a couple of dishes on the overly pink side.
All you can eat petit fours were a bonus but a bit like a magician using the art of distraction...at the end of the day you're there for the food not $10 worth of candy.
Has potential but on this sitting was very pedestrian.
AH Edit: I was the one that said don't bother. Still stand by that assessment.
