Ate: Original Morrison Burger and duck fat fried chips
So forgettable we forgot the name of the shop by the time we got home...
Initial bite screamed 4/10, you could get the same buns from Woolworths (other sources say we're being a bit harsh but we don't think so).
The sauce was decent. The meat seemed passable - it was thick, fairly tasty and not overcooked but had those gritty/tendony bits plus had a tendency to crumble.
Duck fried chips bored us and were not worth $8. We get better chips at the food outlets at work (and their chips aren't great).
We almost walked out when we realised it was an off shoot of The Morrison but then thought that was a bit unfair since we'd never eaten at The Morrison. Sean Connolly's previous restaurant Astral at the "old' Star City remains one of the best degustations we've eaten to date - Astral, Forty One and at the Chef's Table at Becasse. Funnily enough it seems that the restaurant needs to be closing for good at the end of the week to make a degustation truly memorable...
