Dark Chocolate Sandwich with Banana Ice Cream and Caramel sauce
Belgian hot chocolate a.k.a. "real" hot chocolate
Interestingly we found this dessert better than what we had across the hall at the Bathers Pavilion Restaurant.
Ice cream had a strong banana taste from a high density of bananas.
The cookie sandwich wasn't really dark chocolate and it wasn't really a cookie but it was very good. Chocolate semi fredo encased in a chocolate meringue type layer, almost like a macaron shell but we couldn't detect almond meal.
The hot chocolate was good. Better than Max, pretty similar to Koko Black.
We'd opt for the Cafe over the Restaurant for desserts. (Also desserts at the cafe are $19 which already isn't cheap but at the Restaurant they're $25 or something stupid which isn't worth what you get. We miss USA dessert prices).
We asked if this dish was an ice cream sandwich and were told "I find it similar to an adult's version of a Streets Gaytime, if you've eaten one". (We really must've looked foreign...of course we've eaten one, who hasn't??? We're sure they exist overseas too AH found them in New Zealand under the guise of "Cookie Crumble). Anyway it was nothing like a Gaytime which is good because they cost $3 not $19.
