Price: Cheap but not too cheap
Back in the day before Mamak, Paparich and Petaling Street, Sambal was one of the better Malaysian restaurants. Post Mamak, Paparich and Petaling Street it's still one of the better Malaysian Restaurants.
Generally better quality ingredients and pretty tasty overall but still not quite Malaysia and seems expensive (weekday lunch "special" is over $13 which isn't really a special in our mind...although it's a fairly large serving).
Go at lunch because the dinner menu is different and not as interesting. They have different dishes each weekend e.g. one week is Assam Laksa, another week is Roti (there's also a dud week in there where the weekend special is uninspiring).
Paparich should take note of the Ais Kacang...that's what it's meant to look like not the compacted ice cube that they serve...
