Price: Cheap (but not good value... $21 per person)
Potato Gems (ordered cheese potato gems but they put standard gems into the system)
Banana split and tim tam concrete mixer
A pretty blatant copy of Shake Shack with their iconography and "frozen custard" concept.
Unfortunately for Royal Stack, Shake Shack was our least favourite and Royal Stack makes Shake Shack look good.
It's still week 1, technically week 2 by the time of publishing maybe there are some bugs to iron out. We had the same less than glowing response to Burger Project Macquarie Park in its first week but have been back 4 times although haven't changed our view on Burger Project. And having ranted all that, Burger Project is better.
Beef was like a thicker Maccas' patty, nothing wrong with that if it's $5 not $9.90. Sauce (supposedly truffle infused "definitive") and cheese were boring. Bun, was initially okay, definitely not a milk bun but they have a fair lot of butter on it and towards the end it was like eating a Woolworths hot dog roll in texture.
Potato gems were great but you can get the same result from oven gems.
OK when someone says the phrase "Conrete mixer" does one picture a rock hard thickshake/frozen custard thing or a sludgy, slightly icy "concrete still being mixed in the mixer" thing? It was the latter.
