Anitblog (ZL):
Others have commented on the "carb on carb" experience of the potato ravioli so we won't, it's tasty but not spectacular. Pane Frattau allows the tomatoes to shine through, it's a sign that you're in safe Italian hands when you have tomatoes like these.
Feel like we should be eating fish becase that's traditionally what we've associated with Pilu but the suckling pig is excellent. Soft, juicy meat and taste and texture sufficiently different to Chinese roast pork to warrant ordering. Also comes with sides...they say it's for two but could share between three.
Almost failed themselves with the Insalata di mango - We seem to be missing mango... nice, refreshing but the pickled cucumber makes us think this is better as a pre-dessert than a real dessert...so we order the Corbezzolo mousse to give them a chance to redeem. Not spectacular but tasty, solid and the beer sorbet is something new and pleasing to us.
Amuse and Petit fours also good.
Highly rated. Would go back.
