Part of the Mamak Village group of restaurants, we've been here twice and finally a place that properly challenges the much raved and now probably overhyped "Mamak" (for roti at least...haven't tried anything else). Mamak's roti were good when it first opened but in recent years they have tasted a bit like cardboard. Malay Village's roti still aren't as good as Malaysia and their sambal could be better but they're quite authentic (hence the 6.5 and not higher based on these two sittings) .

Teh Tarik tastes like you're back in Malaysia.

The Pandan Sago dessert just tastes like cendol but the texture isn't as fun so you may as well order cendol.

Note: A "mamak" store in Malaysia and Singapore is a street stall in case you're wondering why competing stores have the same name).
