We are fans of Essen, well priced and for schnitzel large but not ridiculously large portions and tasty. Roesti is always a welcome element of the dish but on last visit it seems the sauerkraut had gone missing.
Despite being good there are inconsistencies with quality which keep you on your toes, chicken schnitzel tends to be more tender than veal, pork belly tastier (although smaller) than pork knuckle but if you're feeling lucky (and feeling like something besides schnitzel) then it's worth trying your luck with something different e.g. duck (which was better on last eating than on the initial one).
